Fisher Island, Florida McGuire Marketing was the advertising agency for Fisher Island from 1984 to 1994 during which 550 new residences and 125 resale units were sold for an aggregate of approximately $900 million. McGuire worked under the supervision of Vice President of Sales John Riordan during this time. Fisher became one of the iconic private club communities in the world, attracting resident buyers from 50 different countries. All promotional materials and videos were produced in six languages – English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Italian – and in later years, even Russian. Quality was paramount in everything, including a historic coffee table book featuring photos of residences taken by Jonathan Becker of Town & Country and Vanity Fair fame. An extensive European marketing effort was undertaken. The creative message combined the historical perspective of the Vanderbilts, who formerly owned the property, with the striking beauty of the property today.
